Well, it’s summer and life is busy and everything is in bloom, including this adorable jean jacket with rose embroidery! I’ll get back the jean jacket soon, but first I need to explain my long absence from blogging. Not only have I been terribly busy traveling and working, I’ve also been planning on switching over my blogging platform to a self-hosted wordpress.org blog. It’s a big project and I have not had the time to put in the work because of traveling, working, boating, and (insert excuses of the century here), just plain procrastination. I’m not super excited to trouble shoot a new blog platform all day when the weather is immaculate and the option of boating to the San Juans, or lounging by the pool is on the table. Hence, the lack of blog posts on NWBD. So please stay tuned for a new and improved blog coming (hopefully) the end of the summer or beginning of fall. It will feature more than just cute outfits I’m wearing, and will include travel and personal stuff too. Can’t wait to expand my blog and really get it going! Now back to outfit talk…

The great thing about summer in the Pacific Northwest is that there is always a need for a light jacket, and layering still is a thing. The jacket goes perfect with a simple jeans and white tank or tee, or can be dressed up with an LBD or white sundress. I paired mine with the top I made a few months ago, comfortable high-waist, cropped jeans, and a fancy bag and slides…of course, by my favorite high-end brand, Gucci. For fall I would add a black or white sweater and skinny jeans with boots. Patches and pins are still a trend that is going strong into the Fall/Winter 2017/18 season, especially rose embroidery and patches. My guess is this trend has some staying power because it is fun and whimsical and you can go subtle or fully-on board with embroidery, patches, and pins. It just depends on your personal comfort level as far as style is concerned. For similar styles, please see my the links below my outfit posts.
