Happy Winter! Ok, I know that statement doesn’t get a lot of enthusiasm. It’s been frigidly cold up here in the PNW, I’ve been sick more times than normal this winter, and my face is dryer than the Sahara. Plus I injured my pinky finger. 6 weeks in a teeny tiny splint. No fun. But I got an outfit that has been keeping me happy (and warm) during this cold winter. Meet my 1950s wool vintage swing coat! I bought this on Ebay about 10 years ago and it’s a coat I bring out when I need a bit of color to make me happy during the misery of winter. I love the fur and the ‘Y’ detail on the back. I paired it with an adorable high-neck ruffle blouse,¬†along with my comfy skinnies, Chanel boots, and Gucci belt. The Saint Laurent Bag has been on heavy rotation this fall and winter as well. I really adore this bag because it goes with just about everything, being black and all. Stay warm out there; it’s a cold one!

Happy New Year! I’m hoping 2017 is as magical as 2016 was for me personally! I wanted to showcase my black and white lace Self Portrait coat I purchased recently. I saw this coat at Nordstrom and decided to wait for it to go on sale (the pricetag was waaaaay too steep!), and was happy that they honored my price match from another store online. Btw, Nordy’s is GREAT about honoring lower prices from other retailers, so always do your research if you are planning on purchasing a designer item from there. I know this coat will get in a lot of wears this winter because it is ridiculously warm. Most “fashion” coats kinda suck in keeping a girl warm during such a frigid winter as this one! I paired the coat with a Forever 21 beanie, my Jimmy Choo Sunglasses, black skinny jeans, my lucite wedge boots from Maison Margiela for h&m, and the adorable black leather gloves I purchased in Italy from Twinset. The gloves feature small acrylic pearls around the hem with an black bow. These gloves pared perfectly with my black and white lace coat, and kept my fingers warm during the shoot.

No, really it’s cold outside! 35 degrees and dropping to be exact. I know for many in the USA and beyond, 35 degrees is laughable (a heat wave for those of you on the East Coast), but not for this fair-weathered Northwestern girl! My boots literally stuck to the frost outside. There were a few hysterical shots of me almost falling on my face in the frosty grass, but I will keep those to myself. Ok, so enough bitching about the weather! Let’s talk about my outfit! One of my favorite colors in the world is emerald green, and I was lucky enough to snag this gorgeous pleated skirt from Asos, before it sold out in my size. I paired it with my beloved Maje leather jacket bought in Paris this summer, my knit circle scarf bought off etsy, and a pair of festive emerald colored & rhinestone shoulder duster earrings from Asos. I also got out my silver vintage clutch, leather fingerless gloves bought in Florence, and my Maison Margiela for H&M leather booties with the clear lucite heel. I have a huge obsession with anything lucite, especially shoes with lucite heels. I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing this ensemble to a holiday party or two. Enjoy!

The “Golden Rule” is all about treating others with warmth and respect, especially during the holiday season. So why not celebrate this season’s altruism with a sparkling outfit of gold and black? Ok, I know the black doesn’t fit into the cheeriness of the holiday season, but black is still awesome and goes with almost everything. Plus it is a fantastic contrast with the gold bomber jacket, so I’m going with the black and gold look here. I wore this outfit to a holiday party and it did not disappoint, despite having to loosen the Gucci belt after eating too much delicious Holiday food!

Guys, I’m really excited to be starting this new adventure in blogging! I’ve been wanting to do this for a long, long time, but my schedule didn’t allow at the time. I’m finally doing this! No more excuses and better late than never, right? Regardless of where this takes me, I hope to show you some of my personal style, travel photos, as well as home and lifestyle shots. I want this blog to not be about “making money,” (although I’ll take it if it comes my way!), but an outlet for my creativity as well as making new stylish friends along the way. Nothing makes me happier than enjoying life with great people and places, while doing it in style! Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog! XO, Kelsey
